Courses Description

In the Academy of Finance, the purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment in the financial industry and in the finance area of other industries as well as personal financial literacy.

  • Financial Business Technology - Teaches students how to use microsoft office applications(word, powerpoint, etc.), human relations, and employability skills.
  • Accounting Applications I - Teaches students how to manage a checkbook, make a balance sheet, and prepare a budget and cash flow statement.
  • Financial Operations (Honors) - Gives students an idea of how the stock market is like through the stock market game, gives Business economic overview, and prepares students for their interships.
  • Financial Internship (Honors) *Summer After Junior Year - Gives students real life working experience through a 150-hour paid internship.
  • Financial Planning (Honors)- Teaches students how to save, invest, and borrow money. Also teaches how to manage risks, and how to plan for retirement.
