About Us...


 Kiara Thomas - President

My name is Kiara and I'm entering my Junior Year. I have learned a lot of things in AOF, most importantly, I have learned to become a better person. As President, I will be a positive role model. I will highly encourage teamwork and cooperation among my officers, giving them opportunities to share their ideas and opinions. I'm looking forward to working with Mrs.Ortiz, the incredibly dedicated officers and our active members to make 2009-2010 a great year. My promise to AOF and its members is to always give 100% and make this a memorable year.

 

 Nadine Alonso - Vice President

Hello, my name is Nadine Alonso and I'm entering the 11th grade. I've only been in the Academy of Finance for a year but I have learned a lot through the class and I have had a lot fun on the field trips. Whether you plan to pursue a career in business or not what you learn in AOF stays with you and is useful in the everyday life or will be useful in the future so I am thankful for that. I'm excited about the following year, its going to be hard work but I'm more than willing to do it. I know if we all pull together we can accomplish great things.

 

 Joy LaFountaine- Secretary

I would like to introduce myself as AOF Secretary for the 2009-2010 school year. My name is Joy LaFountaine, I'm a Freshman at Flanagan High and I would like to express some of the ideas I have for AOF next year. I would like to organize AOF by distributing job responsibilities judiciously, so that our members in addition to our officers can partake in the responsibility that our organization has to offer.  I would like to encourage opportunity's to earn additional community hours that would help facilitate our extracurricular requirements for college admissions. I want to have more educational fun filled field trips, and have more activities as a group. My goal is to advertise AOF more and encourage more members to enlist. I want schools and outside organizations to recognize and sponsor our AOF community! Our fellow officers and I will try as hard as we can to satisfy this educational and multi friendly club.

 

 Emily Wong - Treasurer

Hello! My name is Emily Wong and I'm currently a Freshmen at Flanagan High School. I am Chinese so I am good with math. (; I will be the new AOF Tresurer for 2009-2010. I have learned so much from Academy of Finance and I know it's my role as a new officer to keep the money and accounts up to balance. I promise to make AOF a well known organization!

 

 Brittany Clarke - Historian

Hey! My name is Brittany Clarke and next year I’ll be starting my Junior year. I will be the new AOF Historian for the 2009-2010 school year. I’ve only been in Academy of Finance for a year but nevertheless I’ve learned a lot from the class and enjoyed the field trips we went on. As Historian, I am looking forward to recording all our Academy activities and events that we participate in this year. I promise to work my hardest to promote AOF and to do everything I can to make our club the best that it can be.
